Arriving at FEMS MICRO 2025
FEMS MICRO 2025 was held at the Allianz MiCo Convention Centre, located at Piazzale Carlo Magno 1 in Milan’s modern CityLife district. Recognised as one of Europe’s largest and most modern congress centres, the venue is distinguished by its dramatic, comet-shaped roof and extensive conference and exhibition facilities. Large FEMS MICRO graphics across the glass façade welcomed participants into a purpose-built setting for four days of scientific presentations, poster sessions, exhibitions and international networking.
Representing mBioWorks in Milan
At the mBioWorks exhibition space, our team introduced visitors to our services in microbial genome sequencing, amplicon sequencing, metagenomics, DNA extraction and bioinformatics analysis.
The meeting gave us the opportunity to speak directly with researchers about their samples, experimental designs, sequencing strategies and analytical requirements. These project-focused conversations were among the most valuable parts of the congress.
Connecting the community
Throughout the meeting, researchers, service providers and technology companies exchanged perspectives on current challenges in microbiology.
For mBioWorks, these conversations provided valuable insight into the sequencing and bioinformatics needs emerging across environmental microbiology, microbial ecology, clinical research, industrial microbiology and microbial genomics.
A Taste of Italy Between Sessions
The refreshment breaks also offered delegates a taste of Italian hospitality, with an inviting selection of sweet and savoury snacks. Mini desserts topped with chocolate chips, strawberries and berries were served alongside filled croissants, small focaccia-style sandwiches, olive rolls and grilled panini. These colourful displays added a distinctly local flavour to the meeting and created a relaxed setting in which participants could recharge, continue scientific conversations and enjoy informal networking between sessions.
